Preserving the Legacy of Gerald Genta - The Genius Behind the World’s Most Iconic Watches

The Gerald Genta Heritage Association was founded by Evelyne and Alexia Genta to honour and protect the legacy of Gerald Genta, the legendary Swiss watch designer known as the "Picasso of Watches."

A true visionary, Gerald Genta revolutionised the world of luxury watch design, creating some of the most iconic timepieces in history — including the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak, the Patek Philippe Nautilus, and countless other masterpieces that shaped the future of haute horlogerie.

This association is a personal mission — a tribute from his family, dedicated to ensuring that his pioneering spirit, unmatched creativity, and timeless contributions to fine watchmaking are never forgotten.

We invite watch enthusiasts, collectors, and the global horological community to rediscover the extraordinary story of Gerald Genta — and to join us in celebrating the enduring brilliance of a man whose work continues to inspire generations.

“Through his visionary spirit, he crafted many watchmaking legends and his contributions to “Haute Horlogerie” is simply unparalleled.”

— Audemars Piguet

Without Gerald Genta, watchmaking as we know it today would not exist. There would be no “sport chic” watches.”

— Laurent Picciotto

“Gerald Genta was infinitely more than a designer. He was an incredible inventor, a master in watchmaking and jewellery. To put it simply, he was a visionary.”

— Jean-Claude Biver

“Gerald Genta designed two watches that, without exaggeration, changed the world of watches forever. He was the Fabergé of watches.”

— Christie’s

Without him, without his genius and creative freedom, we would still be stuck with a round watch and crocodile strap.
